Blogging Rules
Blogging rules
We are all very excited about starting a class blog in year three. It will allow us to share our work and experiences with people from all over the world. It is very important to make sure that we stay safe and in order to use the blog safely it is important that we all follow some guidelines. As part of the National Curriculum children have been learning about e-safety and internet awareness since joining school, we have also highlighted some important ideas in class which are included below as a reminder to children and others who may comment on our blog.
The following guidelines have been established to ensure the safety of our pupils when blogging. The guidelines are also reminders of how to use the blog to improve writing technical computing skills.
- Please follow our blogging rules:
- Only use your initials when commenting – no full names.
- Relatives who leave comments are also asked to use their initials only or to post comments as “G.G’s Mum” or “T.B.’s Grandfather”.
- Keep safe – don’t reveal any personal information.
- No abbreviated writing – write in full sentences and read your comments back carefully before submitting.
- Be polite – consider that other people will read comments and we should aim to give positive feedback.
- Always show respect – be positive if you are going comment and remember that the blog is like putting our class room on the internet for the rest of the world to see.
- All posts and comments are checked by school staff before they are approved.
- Any problems or concerns should be reported to Mr. Burnett either personally or through the school office.
If you have any more concerns about the security of the blog or the guidelines of use please speak to Mr. Burnett.
