Category Archives: Persuasive writing

In year three we have been learning about events in Syria and ways that we can help those in need.
We have created pieces of persuasive writing aimed at encouraging people to give to charities who support people who have been affected by the events in Syria.

UNICEF thank Christ Church

Well done to all of year three for creating some really persuasive writing and to everyone at Christ Church for the money we were able to raise for UNICEF. In recognition of your work UNICEF wrote to us to thank you all.

“We are incredibly grateful that money raised by your students will be supporting our work. On behalf of the children who will benefit from the money raised: thank you.

UNICEF is the world’s leading organisation focusing on children with a presence in more than 190 countries. We receive no funding from the UN budget, and so we rely totally on voluntary donations like yours to fund our vital work for children.

A UNICEF school-in-a-box will help at least 40 children continue their education in times of emergency and conflict. Materials for an entire classroom are packed into a large portable aluminium case, including a solar/wind-up radio and even an inflatable globe for geography lessons. The inside lid of the box doubles as a blackboard when coated with the special paint included in the kit. The kit also contains resources for teachers and allows for double-shifts for classes so that more children can benefit.

It is fantastic that you have raised enough money to buy not one, but two of these resources for children. Please give yourself a huge round of applause.

With many thanks from

Kerry McMenamin – Fundraising Officer for Schools, UNICEF UK”

What needs to be done?

What needs to be done?

Our dream every day is to give every child an education but 75million are trapped by poverty and don’t have breakfast to give them the energy because you know what needs to be done. We are lucky to have an education but not the whole world has an education but we are trying to give everyone the right to have an education also we can change a big future of their lives and this is a great battle we can win.

Syrian struggle for survival

Hello I am in year 3 and I like literacy here is some of my work it’s about Syria I hope you like it.

Syrian struggle for survival

There is a terrible war in Syria; the political building is doing horrible things to the Syrians including killing innocent people, read on to find out!!!

Many schools have been knocked down because off war, Bashar al Assad has been seen throwing aced and poison on his people. Nearly 3 million children do not get an education due to war about 12% of those children are working in war 31% of  Syrian  children do get an education. The UN has thought of an idea called a school in a box which includes clocks, exercise books, teacher resources and stationary. Sasha from Syria she says she wants to finish the 6th grade of school.

Health

The health is also really bad people are living in appalling conditions no one has any food at all. We would personally like you, yes you, to help people who do not get an education, imagine what you would feel like. Well if now you do want to help give money to charities’ like UNCEIF.

Why we should wear uniform

Why we should wear uniform

Some children have school uniform it is good for many reasons like they get lost but someone see’s your wearing School uniform so they will take you back to school.

Why do you think they can’t wear school uniform?

Problems

There are many differences school uniform can make, it can also solve problems like when you are not wearing school uniform it could take to long to get changed or you get lost.

Still all children should wear school uniform!

Syrian War

Syrian War

The war has been going on for over 4 years.  Many children have lost their family, friends and their school.  Most have been sadly killed.

Many schools have been destroyed.  UNICEF has provided schools in the refugee camps.  Would you like no school?  To provide to the Syrian people, you need to give to UNICEF.

Children and adults have the right to a safe environment, however many children have been badly injured because of the war.  Some illnesses such as measles have been spreading.

To conclude if the war in Syria goes on, if people aren’t looked after properly, if they aren’t provided with enough food, then their lives will be miserable.
